My daughter is on her date right now so this can be posted. She is at a girls choice dance. She wanted something special to give the guy when they went on their date. Anyone can give a rose but a handmade beaded black rose well that is just not common. So this is what she gave the young man.
The dance is a costume dance. They went as Aragorn and Arwen from the Lord of the Rings.
This rose was made from beads left over from other projects. As I finish a project if there are beads left over I sort them into color families and drop them into small containers. When the container is full I know I have enough beads to make one rose. The container is about the size of a tic tac container. So in this case the containers were a green one and a grayish black one. As you notice sometimes there are other colors mixed in that is on purpose not a mistake. I like to have a few beads random like a blue bead here and there in the black and so on just to give a little more variety to the piece. The clear and iridescent are purposely with the black. The wire being used is a 24 gauge wire.
