I have 3 jean jackets I have had almost all of them since I was 14 years old. That is a while for a jacket I have almost had them twice as long as I have not (OK not trying to give my age away all the way). So they have all started to get let say worn out which is a major understatement. I wish I had taken a photo before I cut out the backs yoke piece. So I did the nexted best thing I set the piece back on the hole I had made but you can see the crochet peeking through the hole area.
We have some hooks in our house that I hang my jackets on and well they just wore out the back of the neck area. I have a lot of little bits of this and that crochet swatches some I made and some came in the balls of thread I buy at thrift stores. I got this idea this morning when I was looking at the holes thinking I don't want to toss this jacket I still love it soft and worn but it looked pretty bad as it was. I got this idea that I could edge the yoke area if I cut it out with Romanian cord then fill in that area with the scraps of crochet. this is still a work in progress my oldest daughter when she got home from school asked if I could make her one. But she doesn't own any worn out jackets yet I guess she is going to have to wait a few decades to have a worn out jacket like I did.
