So here is what was accomplished over the weekend on this headdress. Sort of Cleopatra is the feel we are going for. Because the play is sort of a modern twist on everything I mean Elvis is the king...

( the king of Egypt) if you have seen it then you know what I mean. So this sort of has a 1920's feel to it more than an ancient Egyptian feel to it. There still is a ton of beading to do on this. The entire back and one side of the head isn't finished. I think I am going to leave it with an open top more a headdress than a hat. But in these photos it still needs one row to the top to make it lay flat against the head. If time allows it then I may peyote stitch (brick stitch) the black band and make it more sparkly like the rest so that it picks up the light from the stage lights.
