Crochet Skirt finished
This was originally going to be a skirt then thought about a shirt (baby doll style). Well it finally became a skirt but not for me. My middle daughter (11 years old) said she didn't have much clothes for church so I made the waist area tighter than originally planned. So now it fits her. She wears a size 12 in childrens sizes, not to bad can't tell it was originally going to be a 10 in adult sizes. I lined it for her and added a Romanian draw string cord to make it cinch a little more around the waist. For the lining I just laid the fabric down two layers thick on the floor then laid the skirt on top of it and cut around the skirt adding 1 inch margin on all sides. The lining is a poly knit so it stretches and gives when she sits. When it became a skirt for my daughter I removed the purple I had added to the hem because she didn't need the extra length and since it wasn't an exact match I thought all the better.
She didn't tie it very neat in these photo but that doesn't matter a whole lot as she is a kid and will probably never tie it neat.

Gorgeous, excellent work!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! A good length and some room to grow before being passed on to the youngest!
