Mom's fall flower dress

front

This is a lovely linen dress that has rayon flowers embroidered into the fabric.
back

Measurements
bust 37
waist 30
neck to hem 39 1/2 inches

The fabric came embroidered but it is still very lovely to me.

It is a pretty simple sheath dress but to me that is part of it's charm.  Most of these dresses have a pretty solid metal zipper in them.

This dress is in perfect condition enough said on that  You can still see the markings from when it was hand made in the lining of the dress.

It is so cool that so many of mom's dresses have survived what surprises me is that none of these have been worn by her many daughters.  I would have thought they would have pestered her years ago to let them wear them.

Original photo my sisters saw  This dress has already gone to the dry cleaners so that old smell is gone.

  1. I think it is safe to say that none of her daughters wore them because none of us new they existed! I've never seen any of these dresses before. It sure would be fun to know the stories behind them.... Why is it you never see things like this until you're not able to ask about them?

  3. I don't think any of us knew these dresses existed. Wherever they were, they must have been there for quite a while!
