Mae made the frosting at 9:30 pm and was just too tired from the day to help with the decorating of the house; went to ask Pai and he had already fallen asleep on the parlor room floor, of all places. So I looked at the kids and said, "We can wait until tomorrow or you can do it yourselves." Well, what do you think a 5-, 8-, and 9- year old said? "Oh, we can do it!"
So they did. They set to work making their house. Normally we give direction on these types of projects. Well, the 9-year old took over that job and the frosting job, and the 5- and 8- year old took over putting the candies on, and not too bad, actually. Top photo is the front of the house; bottom photo the back of the house.
I love how children come up with their own interpretations of things. So much fun!
