Just a taste of the season

I just love blueberries and this bowl is from my grandmother the embroidery is a vintage pillow case. Just playing with colors in a photo and I liked it.

Caplet all done

I finished the caplet I actually like the way it came out a lot. My middle daughter likes it so much she wants me to make her one. If children from about 12 to about 15wear it, it is actually cape length for adults size small to medium it is a caplet. It has mother of pearl buttons it also has a nice edging that could be embroidered on if someone so chooses to do.

Apron drawing....Sew Mama Sew

I have an apron tutorial posted on Sew, Mama, Sew for their month of hand sewing. They have also posted an introduction in the contributors section. The apron is meant to be for children over seven years of age as it has real long ties that can tie in front on little children and they can carry lots of stuff in the four large pockets it has. It also works nicely as a big persons apron for clothes pins or any thing else you can think to put in large pockets.

The apron is hand embroidered but there is a little bit of machine sewing (about 5 mins of that) on it at the waist band which is easily done by hand I just was focusing on the chicken scratch more. So I think it passes as hand sewing and then some as that is what most of it is. Because I made this apron for Sew Mama Sews special hand sewing month I decided I would give it away as a reward for their readers and my readers

Sorry there are rules. It is to hard to do this without rules. Plus some of the rules make it funner for me. I want some funny stories for all my hard work. I got 5 hours of sleep in 3 days working on this

Camp Evacuation

Two of my kids went to camp on Tuesday. I was sent an e-mail about an hour ago (that I only received and read about 10 mins. ago) that the camp is being evacuated due to a lighting strike that has started a fire just above the camp. This post is mainly for family who know my kids are at camp and in the area of the lightning strike and fire. I have been informed that they are being evacuated and that all are safe at the time of the e-mail. T or myself will leave in a few mins. to go get them. These photos I took on Tuesday when we dropped them off looks somewhat green in the photos but it is August and things are probably more dry than they look.

UPDATE: All are home safe and sound a few scratches and cuts from fun playing at camp before the evacuation.
