Repairing floral work

So on Friday we had some customers come into work who had a funeral in Sacramento, California, about 1 week ago. They had brought the funeral easels from California to Utah to do the second service at the graveside. The arrangements looked a little bad, but pretty good for a week without being watered. So they asked if I could repair them and put them back on the easels for the service that night. I really liked the two arrangements, so I thought I would take pictures of them to show you.

The woman who had died had breast cancer; I thought this first piece was a neat tribute to her battle with cancer. I have not seen a form like this before. My co-workers and I talked about it a lot; we want to get some of these in for our customers. In this photo I had not finished fixing it yet. There was still greenery that needed to be attached to the top of the piece.

This next one they had me fix was just a beautiful wreath. This is over a $400 funeral piece in Utah; in California it would be more. All of us said when we die we want a wreath like this, but then we all said, "Hey wait! We want it while we are alive!" We liked it so much. The roses and hydrangea had died, so that is what I was repairing and, of course, putting it back on an easel. That is what I did with the first, re-attached it to the easel. Also, we liked the form on this one. The ones we get from our wholesalers are mache like the breast cancer one, but this one was plastic backed which made it stronger, and we liked that feature. You know, little details like this make floral arranging so much easier.
