The first of many aprons to come.
Didn't work on Effie much this weekend; made an apron instead. This is a sort of hostess's apron; it reminds me of Mother's Day or Easter. I have a question -- I debated on making a crochet pansy and either placing it on the waist band or the right side bottom of the apron; any opinions? I still need to finish off the ribbons and sew them neatly so you won't see frayed edges. This is not the type of apron that will keep your clothes clean. It just states "I am the hostess. If you have questions, ask me, and don't I look pretty."
this is the original pattern with some mods for modern reading (star book company book #89 gallery of crochet and knitting)I changed mine when I made it to accommodated the yarn I had but do it how ever you like

finish apron by
Pressing apron and weave ribbon through waist band.I did mine in a little bigger thread and bigger hook, so I dropped the last 8 rows off of the pattern for mine, and I only used 2 colors instead of three. Just remember, you never have to do what a pattern states; make it your own and have fun doing it.
SUNSHINE,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty apron, must be a lot of fun to do, and the ideas for making them would be endless. You will be like Aunt George and be dreaming apron ideas while you sleep.
Mailed you out a card this morning.
