1 Pair finished

front and back cuffback side

My daughter finished making the pair of lace gloves she was making for herself.  I believe she is happy with them.  They came out better than she thought they would so that is good.   She has never made a pair of gloves before so as a first attempt she did real well and no help from me.
Also her first time reading a pattern that was not in American terms but British terms.  They are a simple mesh pattern.  But she did have to figure out the fingering part and all on her own and how to add the elastic cuff and make the cuff itself so good for her.  My only complaint on her finished piece she made them fit her perfectly.  OK I know that does not sound like a complaint but it is.  Since she is only 14 years old they will fit her maybe 4 years tops then her hands will out grow them.

All she had to to was make the fingers 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer and they would have fit her almost indefinitely  or half fingers would have worked too.  But the length is her thinking not mine in retrospect she wishes she had made them a a little longer.

  1. I'm so impressed! You must be so proud of her. I think it's good that the gloves fit perfectly - they will look better on her now, so she can show them off! She can always make another pair in a few years if she wants to.
