it out the bonnet actually gets about 1 inch longer across the front of the brim of the hat. So if in the future babies are a little bigger than this one she will still be able to use it. I love my nephews comment to his mom of "Mom the dress is too long it goes past her feet." Like a baby that is less than two months old would care to walk or crawl and this would get in the way of that. On a side note this same brother helped me pick out the flowers that I sewed on the dress. Hard to believe that was all made using only two skeins of DMC Baroque cotton thread. I am just sad that she, my sister-in-law, didn't have the jacket on my niece so I could have seen it all together.
