So I did one photo of it sitting on my oldest daughter so you can sort of get an idea of what it would look like from the back and there is one here from the play but accidentally got the actress with her eyes closed oh well that is how it goes sometimes. You can see the beaded collar in this photo too But it wasn't done the first time she wore it I had one more row to put on it which was on it the next time she wore it but I never got a photo of it like that on her.

Beadwork hat finished
This hat was done in time for the play along with 157 other items I made between Sept 20 and October 13 ( 23 days). That was an insane three weeks but well worth the effort the student did such a spectacular job on the play I was glad I could contribute to it. I made the items in a total of about 415 hours...

that works out to about 2.6 hours per item but that is so misleading as some items took 20 mins and others took about 20 hours to 100 hours. The most time consuming pieces where the coat the headpiece shown in this post and the beaded necklace/collar followed by the 20 white dresses (but I am grouping them together as one because that is how I sewed them as one project). Some things took a lot of time as I didn't have patterns for most of the stuff I made. I am sure the students got sick of me asking for measurements so I could make things for the play. Yet they never complained are great sports all the way around. The pictures in this post you can see a pink bandanna on the head form because the weight of the beads is usually kept from slipping with bobby pins in the hair but with out that and on a slick surface it just wants to fall off of the head of mannequin. So the bandanna gives just enough friction for it not to slide so I can take photos but looks horrid in the pictures.
