Useful Information

If anyone is into frogging a sweater for yarn. Which I have not done and I am not interested in it doing it either at the moment. But if you are here is some useful information. Tells you how to get the size of the yarn.

If you look at the photos you can figure out how to get the wrinkles out of said frogged yarn too.

1. unravel sweater ( have fun with that)
2. do burn test
   
3. Looks like you wind new wrinkle yarn around a book
   
4. place in separate hanks on hanger, plastic
5. Get it wet
6. let hang in shower till dry with weight to pull out the kinks

Useful information. Don't know I will use that part of it. But it is useful to me to know how to find the gauge of unknown yarn as I buy tons thrift and it almost always has lost its tags.

On another stitching note I started a pair of mitts again, picture above. You can find the pattern here if you want to see what they should look like, or if you want to make a pair for yourself it is a free download. I am doing more a red sun set than a winter one. Using size 2 knitting needles this is wool once again. Loving the wool in knitting, I love wool for lots of things like my rugs and such but this is quicker than a rug.

Finished

I finished the second fingerless mitten. They actually match in size and pattern changes. OK I know not a big deal but I am happy that I could write it down well enough for me to make a matched set.
