Our Tree Is Up

tree 2007
Usually I have lots of beads and gold ornaments on the tree and tons more ornaments and red lights. This year I did a tinsel garland instead of beads and candy lights instead of red. I also used just eight fabric ornaments and the rest of the tree is all glass ornaments lots of vintage ones on there. I haven't done this in a long time because my children where too young for a while; last year was the first year in a long time I had any glass ornaments on the tree at all. I probably have enough ornaments to decorate four or five trees this size. Some day maybe I will have that many trees and I can have different themes for different rooms; that would be so cool.

The kids are working on their tree today. This year we remembered the lights that we forgot last year. I will post a picture of their's later.

  1. We knew a family that lived in Bessemer City, NC. They had a beautiful old home. Every year they'd go all out decorating... starting in October. Every room had a tree! Most rooms, it was a full-sized tree, with smaller ones in spots like bathrooms or hallways. Each tree had a theme - birds, snowmen, blue, etc. They'd open up their home at certain times for people to come through.

I can't picture us ever having a house big enough for all of that, but it *would* be cute to have a tree in each room, even if most of them were just table-top trees. Or quilted wallhanging trees, with cute ornaments! Wonder where we could find some cute ideas for ornaments.... LOL
