School Play

My oldest daughter played Martha Washington in the school play last week. I think she did great she memorized her part all on her own. You know the scary thing about these photos is I just realized how tall my oldest daughter is getting. She is almost up to my chin and is up to her Pai's neck. Make her stop growing; I am not ready for this!Here she is doing her mono-logue. She is pretending to read a letter from George Washington, but the paper is actually blank; this is all memorized. Not a very good video, but the idea is there for family who are far away from us.

Currently I am reading the Cronicals of Narnia and the Ink Heart series, all three books. I want to read them all before I watch the movie (Inkheart) because the movie looks to be parts of book 1 and 2 so far, and I am curious about that.

If you are wondering why I haven't posted much about crafts and things of that sort lately, I messed up a few fingers on my right hand a few weeks ago horsing around with my oldest daughter. Her shoelace got tangled around some fingers on my right hand, and they have been tingling ever since, making it kind of hurt to do things with my hands. So I saved my hands for work and have been reading a lot lately; will get back into the swing of things soon because my hand isn't tingling nearly as much.

Substitute teaching & back roads

I get to teach one of the one of three 1st Grade classes at my kids' school today. Just happens to be one of the two without my daughter in it, probably a good thing.

Yesterday on Presidents' Day my husband wanted to go on some back roads just to see what we could see on the old snow covered trails. We saw quiet a few pretty sights.

My oldest daughter likes horses and wanted a picture of this one with its winter coat.

My second daughter is born near the 4th of July and likes all things patriotic and she found this flag and wanted a picture of it.

The last daughter likes deer (well, we all do) and wanted a picture of these mule deer.

Also in honor of Presidents' Day, I also am working on a patriotic jacket for a baby. I will put it in the store when done. It would be cute to wear to a 4th of July event or some other patriotic event or holiday.

What work looked like Friday morning (once again, not all photos came out well): we had three times this amount of flowers.

What the florist sees: by the way this is only one of two coolers. I didn't take pictures of the other as we had to walk outside in the snow to get to it, and I was already cold enough just from going in and out of this cooler, let alone going to the delivery cooler where all the arrangements for delivery for Saturday had been stored. These are just Friday morning arrangements, will call, and some of the loose flowers; more had been stored in the delivery cooler. We had over 7,150 roses in this cooler.

We already have over 7150 roses in the store prepping for Valentines and that isn't even counting other flowers and greens just a little work yet to be done:0) understatement of course.

Her back up band was stolen from Adam Ant (they had been the ants) then latter part of them became the band culture Club adding Boy George to the mix weird music family genealogy.

So what was I in the 80's yes a little new wave punk kid pink and blue mohawk and all. I may not have the 2 foot hawk any more but the punker lives on inside me I still love the music of that era. Wonder what my kids are going to be like when they start to buy their own music and such.

looky looky that's me

OK so it isn't me per say but it is an item I made and put up for sale being featured in the etsy treasure list. Top left corner the cream and yellow baby bonnet with yellow daisy accents. This posting expires on Friday at 11 pm but that is fine with me I am excited for the here and now.So it may not be a big deal to other people but I am so excited it was just the thing to find out about today.

I had a long day at work the computer kept breaking and the credit card machine kept breaking I sure hope this all gets fixed soon before the Valentine rush starts which should be any day.

Nostalgia Adam Ant

The first music I ever purchased was Adam Ant, the tape "Strip". I was in fourth grade.

Hmmmm!!! 4th Grade. OK, I should be worried; my oldest is in 5th, so this could come at any stage I guess now. But I think I have more extreme tastes than she does because when I was looking at videos I would post on here, she scrunched her nose in disdain at most of them. She liked a little of the music but not most of the images. Hard to explain to a kid that Mom and Dad didn't always seem this boring as we do to them. I mean I still wear fishnets and leather and things of that sort, but they consider that normal for me. Videos they haven't seen much of, if any, or wild hair (they never saw that on me because I cut off my hawk about 2 years before meeting their dad). Oh well, I guess I should be prepared for the fallout from this any time soon. But, since they go to a Christian school that doesn't allow extremes, I might be OK for a few more years.
