Biology homework

sunflower and two bees
My oldest daughter has to collect pictures of bugs, animals and plant life for biology this year.
We have to get them printed on paper to turn in, but thought you might like the first set of photos. We have these bees that nest in the flowers over night, pretty weird and cool. In the morning we have found as many as six bees in one flower, all asleep together.

Here are the bees, not sure yet which she wants to keep for the assignment.

Here is a photo that she isn't sure about keeping for it. It looked cool to me, looking right into the nest. It is hard to tell in the photo because there is nothing for size reference, but they are some seriously big red ants. I don't want them on me ever!!!

She doesn't have to take the photos, just be present when they are taken and dictate what I need to take pictures of. So these are pictures taken by me under the direction of a ten year old.

  1. Very cool pictures!! I havn't seen ANY red ants here..lots when we lived in Calif. though.
I would take my chances with THEM before the bees...but cuz I am allergic to bee stings. I really wouldn't want to play around with either one!!
    Have a great week...cool project!
Hey..there is a giveaway on my blog if you are interested right now..it ends Weds. night.
