My 5 year-old, since she just got her first room to herself, wants it decorated in butterflies. We just purchased a new home; things are a little tight, so I figured I had these curtains that used to hang in my sewing room at my old home. I decided it was easy enough to embroider on them to add a few butterflies to her room. So I put out the call to a few of the embroidery groups I belong to. Diana at the group CRAFT came through for me and sent me a ton of butterfly patterns from the internet. I embroidered the first one today. Each curtain will have 17 or more butterflies. This is the first one finished; it took me three hours to do this one. So, as I embroider these, I will update you all on the progress. In case any one wants to know, I am using size 5 pearl cotton to embroider with. I am also being real careful with the back side of my work because, when this is in the window, any thread bars will show because of the light from outside.
Part1: butterfly 1
Part 2: butterfly 2 and 3
Part 3: butterfly 4 and 5
Part4: butterfly curtain patterns
Part 5: butterfly 6
The funny thing about doing this is I am now dreaming of butterflies. I also decided to enter this in the Whip-ups whiplash competition in the project category.

Shameless plug: I see some of the designs you are using are from my website! Very cool :-)
