Haunted cookie Castle
My youngest daughter wanted this kit and since her sisters would be away we decided it would be her special treat to make on her own. A Haunted Halloween Cookie Castle. I don't know he doesn't look scary to me just real sad I think it is the door that does it.
This is so cool I had to share
Watch this amazing video. It is hard to believe someone did this with paint it loops twice so you can see it again.

Kids and Halloween
Ok the kids would not have it that mom wasn't mom this year. I usually decorate for Halloween as it is my favorite holiday. But this year since the day before Halloween I will be in the hospital and such didn't want to deal with taking it all down nore would I be able to. So my kids kept pestering till I agreed some and then I asked husband if he would take it all down, usually my job. He agreed so here you have a front door draped in black garbage bags cut length wise into long strips that are stretched that are held up with tabs that are supposed to hold up Christmas lights made it easy to hang. We are not putting everything up this year my tree and caldron and a few other things are actually decorating my husbands work and he will have to bring them home and put them away. I will take another photo once it gets darker so you can see the effects of it all minus the eerie sound and fog machine. The kids actually cut all but one bag which I did to show them how it was done then it was my job to hang and stretch the bags as they cut more to hang. About ten bags total was used. Earlier in the day these had been blowing real eerie like but it has since rained and they are heavy with water. Oh and that is just a little kids plastic trick or treat pumkin that we found thrifting a few years ago that is being used as the porch light for fun.

Haunted Halloween Coookie House
We have a tradition of making cookie houses at Easter, Halloween and Christmas this is this years house. We have bought a kit for several years now. When we first started I made them from scratch sad to say time just doesn't allow that any more. But the kids still have fun with this. We still like to add other things to the kits. either other frosting or candies and cookies and just stuff.

Halloween Cookies
My youngest daughter and I had some Mommy and daughter time today. While the other two girls had a daddy daughter night. She felt kind of left out so we made some cookies she decorated five and I did five. That makes two for each family member to eat.
We still have yet to make our typical Halloween haunted house maybe later tonight or tomorrow. I bet you could guess who did which ones mine took between three to five mins. total and hers about twenty she had so much fun doing this.
Silhouettes
While in California I took some photos of silhouettes that my grandmother had. I have a collection of family silhouettes that hang in my dinning room. I wanted to add to these images. So I took photos of some my grandmother had that I did not. Some are in real bad shape so I sat down at the computer for a while to fix the images up so you could see what they should look more like I am not done with this as of yet as you can tell these are splotchy hard to take photos through glass. when I find my Silhouette paper and scissors I will cut new ones of these and add them to my wall. Some I have not had the time to fix yet. So some of these are an after some a before but they all had damage. I have cut new silhouettes of my own family that hang on my wall and other other peoples families. But that was free hand and not using a computer I like the free hand more but these where too fragile and not mine so I could not bring them home. With the aid of the computer I can still cut these free hand just by seeing the image on the screen and have a set of them. Which is pretty cool as my great grandmother I never met so it is a silhouette that I would have never seen in real life.

Part 4 Moon Festival...and the beat goes on
While at the moon festival there was this drum show. I only recorded a small portion of it. I loved the rhythms and the beats and the way the musicians inter-played with each other while still keeping the beat.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
What happened to my projects...
With the move and two trips to California in the last two months you have probably wondered what happened to all the things I usually make. Well I am still making things it is just I have a very large project that I have to get done. I will be posting more items in the near future just have to get this done first. I have some more stuff from the Moon Festival still to post and stuff from the Renaissance fair still too. That stack isn't getting smaller here while I type gotta go take care.

Part 3 Moon Festival...in the news
While at the moon festival we watched the lion dancers from cal poly but the show announcer called these dragons . So now I don't now what these are lions or dragons. I think lions but still not real sure if someone knows please let me know. We sat and stood right in the spot where they spat out the cabbage so we are supposed to have wealth and good luck in the coming year.
IN THE NEWS
This is the front page of the Hanford Sentinel From Oct 5, 2009 if you look close you can see my kids are on the cover page watching the Cal Poly Lion dancers. If you look close at this page you will also notice the Renaissance fair that we went to later in the day.
I have a video but blogger isn't letting me post it for some reason it is having issues loading. OK since when do you have to have a YouTube account to post a video on blogger.

Just a little bit of color...
As most of you know we have moved recently. We had been working on remodeling the house before we moved into it and there is still plenty of work to be done. I like real bright rich colors and wall paper my husband likes paint this is the compromise. We picked red for the front room color what do you think. You can see a little bit of the color that is in the kitchen too the bright yellow.

Just a little pretty...
Just wanted to share this photo I took it while staying the night at my older sister's house on the way to California for my Vavo's birthday. Since Then I have had hail, light snow and fog in Utah and this butterfly was only 1 1 /2 weeks ago. Amazing how fast seasons change.
My camera is being a little weird at the moment I can get stuff off of the memory card that I have already taken pictures of by placing the memory card directly into the computer but the camera will not let me take more photos right now. It let me yesterday so I have no idea why it is doing this.

New yoyo tools coming out
I was looking on Clover's sight and they have new yoyo makers coming out in November in the shape of butterflies and four leaf clovers. I will definitely have to get them especially the butterfly ones for my butterfly girl. The funny thing is when I buy these types of things I always have to buy more than one set as my kids always want to try them too. The image in this post I captured from the clover sight it is not my photo I just wanted to be able to show you what I saw there. If you like yoyos this should be a cool new tool. I have been making clovers already but I used hearts to make them. I have also already been making butterflys by just doing a few extra stitches in a normal round yoyo but this looks nicer than what I came up with. Doesn't look like it is able to be ordered yet hopefully soon.
A new face in the store..
This is Ellie she is the new head model in the store I got her about 2 months ago and just didn't have time to take photos of her with the move and all.
I love having her as my model it means less floating hats in just black space and it doesn't have to be my face under any hats.
Which is something I am all for the less photos of me the better in my opinion I usually do not like my photo taken just sort of funny that way.
I should get some new family photos though oh well have to wait on that for now.
